A Small Change for a Better Park

Learn to write a friendly email suggesting an improvement to a local place. Explain your idea and how it could help other people.

Key words

  • suggest — to tell someone an idea they could try
  • improve — to make something better
  • bench — a long seat where several people can sit

Tip: Organize your email into three parts: say why you are writing, explain your suggestion with reasons, and end politely.

Your task

Your local park manager wants ideas to make the park better. Write a friendly email of 90–110 words. Suggest one improvement, explain two reasons why it would help, and offer to help with the change. Begin with “Dear Park Manager,” and finish politely.
